Description:
Imagine yourself driving to Estes Park to stay in a beautifully restored Historic 1930's log cabin on 1.5 acres of land surrounded by 100 year old Ponderosa Pines with views of Lumpy Ridge and Twin Owls sweeping you off your feet... yes, this is really what you will find!! In the background, you can even see the snow capped peaks of Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypsilon which is a favorite trio of mountains that you can climb if climbing is in your vacation plans.
When you walk in the front door of this cabin, you will find yourself in the fully equipped kitchen that has everything you will need for meal preparation. The antique wood stove converted to gas will surely grab your attention as will the wide-plank hardwood floors covering the kitchen and the dining area which will seat 8 comfortably. The hickory cabinets throughout bring a warmth and comfort to this area where all guests will want to come, sit, and talk about the day's adventures.
Off the kitchen, you will find the family room with its 16 ft. open log cathedral ceiling, wood beams and supports, original log walls, and wood floors. Completing this warm and cozy atmosphere is a floor-to-ceiling wood burning moss rock fireplace. You will also find a TV and queen-sized sofa sleeper in this room for your convenience.
The Master bedroom suite is carpeted and consists of a comfy King bed, cedar wood walls, and wood beamed ceiling. The Master bath has a beautiful walk-in Colorado native stone shower with a jetted claw-foot tub to soak away your sore muscles.
The second bedroom is carpeted and has a queen-sized bed, cedar wood walls, and wood beams on the ceiling.
The third bedroom has a queen-sized bed as well with a large bank of windows that brings the entire outside inside. You can relax in this room with a view of Lumpy Ridge, snow-capped mountains peaks in the background, and a sitting area that includes a table for playing checkers. This bedroom also opens to a large wood deck with a hot tub where you can relax and enjoy the expansive mountain views.
This home also has a second bathroom with shower, laundry room, gas grill, cedar swing, and shuffleboard area all for the enjoyment of its guests. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is only 5 minutes away with an endless amount of trails to hike for all ability levels and trout fishing to excite the eager angler in your group. Snowshoeing and backcountry skiing are also possibilities in the winter months. The Eldora Ski Resort is also only 50 minutes away.
As you relax and enjoy this Historic cabin that will comfortably sleep 8, you will come to know that the furnishings and style of the owners is reflected in the warm personal touches that you will find throughout this home. Hi There!
I would like to say that my family(I have 4 kids ages 11,12,15,and 17) plus 2 friends ages 15 and 17 and my husband and I all stayed at your beautiful and inviting cabin..."Elk Crossing in the Rockies" last week... and had the most wonderful and amazing time! We LOVE your place and had plenty of room for all 8 of us! We felt "at home" at this cabin in Estes Park... and we plan on returning some time( hopefully sooner than later!) Thank you for making us feel so welcomed! We will recommend you to others that might be going there.

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home in Estes. We all enjoyed our time there and agree that we will return as soon as we can. Everyone was excited that a bear came outside our window the first nite and some dear were around the next day. We will definately reccomend your place to others. We loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Elk Crossing. The owners have done an excellent job of melding the rustic decor with modern upgrades. There were 5 women in our group, and we found the accommodations very comfortable. One morning we looked out from the breakfast table to see a doe and her fawn traveling across the yard.

The stay at the Elk Crossing property was wonderful. Perfect accomodations for my friends and myself, we had a great time and I can offer no suggestions for improvement. My experience with Estes Park Central was also outstanding. In comparison to other vacation rental companies I have dealt with, this was so efficient and easy I would recommend your services to anyone interested in a vacation rental in your area. I will most definitely be working with you again. Thanks for providing a wonderful vacation getaway!
